The basics
How to use a TV guide.
A TV guide is a schedule of programmes organised by channel, date and start time. It helps you find what is on and decide when to watch. A listing tells you about a programme; it is not a link to a live video stream.
1. Start with the right country
Open the country guide for where you watch. The same channel name can refer to different services in different countries. For example, ABC in the United States and ABC in Australia have different schedules.
2. Check the date and time zone
The date selector changes the day shown. Our guides clearly label their time zone. US and Canadian listings use Eastern time, UK listings use London time and Australian listings use Sydney time. Your local clock or provider may show a different time. Read the time-zone guide if a listing looks unexpected.
3. Browse a channel or search for a programme
Use the channel directory when you know the station. Each channel links to its full available daily schedule. If you know a programme name, search the listings. A programme with no match may simply be missing from our sources for that date.
Compare channels and save favourites
Channel cards show programme artwork when available, a featured listing and the next available programmes. On now means the current time falls within a confirmed broadcast slot; Next listed can be later if the source has a gap. Select Timeline on a larger screen to compare start and end times. Use Earlier and Later to move through the selected day. Select the heart beside a channel to remember it in this browser, then use Favourites to show your saved channels.
4. Read the programme details
The start time is when the listed programme is scheduled to begin. The timeline uses the published broadcast slot, which can include breaks. If an end time is unavailable, the programme is listed separately without a guessed width. An episode title helps distinguish entries from the same series; season and episode numbers appear when the source supplies them. Select a title to open more details. A NEW label refers to source metadata and does not guarantee a first broadcast in every region.
5. Plan the evening
Tonight's guide includes programmes starting from 6pm, plus programmes that overlap that time. For another day, use tomorrow or the week planner. Choose Save to add a programme to this browser's watchlist. Reminders depend on this site being open; they are not an offline alarm service.
What if the guide differs from my television?
Your local affiliate, subscription package or regional feed can differ from our source. Repeat broadcasts and last-minute changes may be missing. Check the broadcaster or your TV provider for the final line-up. This guide does not currently offer ZIP-code or postcode-specific channel numbers.
